Frequently Asked Questions – Year 4 and above
What are the entrance papers?
There are three papers maths, English and non-verbal reasoning.
Do you provide sample papers? No we do not – if they are at a school which follows the national curriculum then they should not have any difficulties with our papers.
Is entrance based solely on the results of the papers? No we do take other things into account such as sporting and other achievements and a current school report is required. But equally we will be honest and if we think that a child would not cope here we would not accept him or her.
Do you have scholarships? We do but all of our awards are means-tested so that we only award money for those families who need financial help. We can award honorary scholarships for those who merely seek affirmation rather than financial assistance.
What should he or she wear on a taster day? Just their normal school uniform.
My child is unhappy at her school can she start with you after half term? Yes, as long as we have sufficient information to know that your child will thrive with us he or she can start at any time. If your child is at another fee-paying school we would expect you to give them their required notice.
