Reading Challenge
This academic year, The Towers has developed a Reading Scheme as a new, whole school initiative. It is called THE READING CHALLENGE and is hoped to encourage ALL students to read regularly for pleasure.
At the Towers, we believe that reading is crucial for our students' academic success and the Reading Challenge is being introduced to help students to improve their reading levels according to their ability.
We want to recognise and reward all the avid readers we currently have here at The Towers (and we know there are many of them!) by giving each one an award for what they enjoy. But we also want to encourage any reluctant readers by setting this challenge - and to hopefully prove to them that reading fiction does not have to hurt!
The challenge has three separate awards – Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Each book read for a challenge will be rewarded with a merit mark and on the completion of a Bronze or Silver challenge, a certificate will be awarded in assembly.
The Gold Award – the toughest challenge - will be awarded with a Gold metal badge with the Lamp of Learning motif. This is what we hope all students will aim for and achieve by the time they leave The Towers. It will have a high profile and will be recognised as such at the girls’ next level of education.
So what do they have to do?

| SILVER AWARD |
